Apple iPad and iPod Touch In-Wall Flush Mount Kits by iPort

The Apple iPod and iPad are both immensely popular, and manufacturers who make
home automation and
whole house musicproducts have responded by making "an app for that". In other words, you can use your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch to control something as basic as music...or even all of your home's subsystems like lighting, climate, security, audio/video, pool & spa, motorized shades & drapery, etc. Responding to the iPad and iPod's popularity, an inventive company called iPort has just released a flush-mount in-wall mounting kit for both the iPad and iPod Touch. Here are the details :
The new iPort CM-IW2000 kit allows an Apple iPad to be used as an in-wall touch panel providing continuous charging of the iPad and allowing a connection to a local WiFi network. Supporting a variety of applications for home automation control and common applications such as weather, stocks and news; the CM-IW2000 provides the user with control of audio, video, lighting controls, and climate on the mounted iPad when the control application is connected to a compatible control system (such as Crestron, AMX, Savant, or Control 4 home automation systems).
The CM-IW2000 securely flush mounts the iPad into the wall with a magnetically-secured frame, and the iPad mount may be installed either in a portrait or landscape orien
tation. Though the iPad may be removed from the mount, it is designed to hold the iPad very securely, so it shouldn't be considered a quick disconnect "dock" like commonly seen with iPhones and iPod Touches...it is a bit more difficult to remove. It should be considered for permanent or semi-permanent installations.
The iPad's smaller sibling, the iPod Touch, is given the same flush-mount treatment with iPort's CM100 flush-mounting kit, as the picture at the right demonstrates.
Pricing:
$499 CM-IW2000 (flush mount iPad)
$250 CM-IW100 (flush mount iPod Touch)
Both the CM-IW2000 and CM-IW100 are available from DSI Entertainment Systems. Apple iPad products and applications are being invented at a furious pace.
