How to Make a TV Disappear...TV Lift 101 - Interior Design Tips
Thanks to today's thin flat screen TV's and motorized projection screens, we have more tools than ever to make televisions and media rooms / home theaters practically invisible when not in use.
Included in the video clips below are TV's motorizing up, down, and even sideways out of a wall. What is common with each installation shown is that it was designed early in the design process to have the video display literally disappear when not in use. As you will see, each a little outside the ordinary. Installations like these have made DSI popular with the achitect and interior design communities, as no longer do the electronics compete with the room's décor.

Architecture and interior design by Thomas Callaway Associates, construction by Scott Halley & Associates. This TV lift video is fun to watch...
The next video shows a unique solution when the ceiling's joists do not line up in the needed direction. The client's did not want to put the TV above the fireplace...that is where their art will be (painting not installed when this video was made). Check out the solution...

The nearly silent lift is built by Activated Design. The top of the TV lift blends into the countertop when descended. See it below...
