The Most Popular DSI Audio Video Blog Articles of 2011
Time flies, another year comes to a close, and let's hope the economy keeps picking up in 2012. We thought we'd wrap up the year with what you, our dear readers, selected as the most popular blog topics for 2011. I determined this by how many page reads each post had, and here are four of the standouts, click on each title to see the original post :
This post featured an amazing video created by Corning, the glass making company. The video is 5 minutes long, but is a worthwhile watch. It envisions how we might interact with technology in the future, and not surprisingly, a lot of glass is featured. I like the TV they show in the Media Room, just a piece of glass without any bezel at all.

Wow, this one turned out to be quite controversial, and it wasn't meant to be. Crestron and Savant both make great home automation systems, but they are different and we wanted to point out some differences between them. A reason this post is so popular is that many want to use their iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches as remote controls, and since Savant uses an Apple computer as it's brain, the connection between these products is natural. Just so you know, every legit home control system manufacturer has apps that will allow you to use iPhones, iPads, and the iPod Touch as remote controls (but beware...read Eric's iPad as a remote control post, too). Android apps are growing in number, too.
I love this post, lots of great interior design ideas on one page. Hiding televisions has been one of our specialties for years, and motorized lifts have been the key in lot of the wizardry we pull off. This article features four different motorized TV lift videos you can watch directly from within the post. To keep up to date with more hidden TV technology, subscribe to our YouTube channel or bookmark and frequent this page > custom audio video installation videos . We are already up to nine videos on the 'hidden audio video - TV lift videos' page. Check 'em out.
No wonder this is a popular post, it still continues to be a popular question from architects, designers, and clients, too. In a nutshell, Crestron is the a popular and powerful home automation system, and Lutron makes a popular and powerful lighting control system. The two work together beautifully, as the article discusses. So, it isn't "do I get Crestron or do I get Lutron", you can have both. Crestron does make their own competing and very capable lighting control system, too, but Lutron lighting integrates great.
